César Vichard de Saint-Réal, 1639-1692, French historian, usually known as the Abbé de Saint-Réal, was born in Savoy and educated in Paris by the Jesuits. He became a pupil of Varillas [q.v.] whose works served as his model. His Oeuvres Posthumes were published in 1693.
