Richard Parkinson, 1748-1815, English farmer and agricultural writer. This book was first printed in London in 1798, and is dedicated to General Washington, late President of the United States. The list of subscribers is reprinted in this Philadelphia edition and includes General Washington, Mount Vernon, America, and Mr. John Mott, America. Parkinson visited America in 1798, and, on the recommendation of Sir John Sinclair, was employed by Washington as agriculturalist at Mount Vernon.
