. Pope’s works by Warburton. 10.v. 12 mo .^10 th [ed. "^10 th " written in pencil. The three works by Pope, that appear on this page (222) of the Great Library, present some questions and point to an important difference between Sowerby’s work and the Trist MS. As for the evidence in the Great Library MS, the checkmarks with periods that appear before each of the three works are faint, possibly due to fading or rubbing as they are on the upper left of the page, though only the second work was erased. Yet, based on the overall evidence it is probable that TJ had all three works by 1783. However, Sowerby was not sure what was sold to Congress because she gave credence only to the first listing, for ten volumes. She ignored the second work, that was erased, that references a nine volume set. She does note that a later Library of Congress Catalogue listed a nine volume set. The Trist MS then confirms that it was the nine volume set that was sold to Congress.]
